Angel Locsin and Andi Eigenmann are at ease being dubbed as look-a-likesby Napoleon Quintos | April 01, 2010 2:52 AM Now that Andi Eigenmann has emerged as the twin lead characters in the top-rating primetime teleserye Agua Bendita, many are noticing that the rising star’s resemblance to actress Angel Locsin. When asked by Showbiz News Ngayon about this, Andi said that many have come up to her and told her about this. Pero sobrang thank you kasi nakaka-flatter yun.” Despite feeling a bit intimidated, the daughter of Jacklyn Jose expressed that she will be happy if ever she would be cast opposite Angel in a project on TV or a movie. Angel is also aware that she and Andi are being tagged as look-a-likes. Angel told SNN, “Madaming nagsasabi. However, in spite being named as one of the most beautiful faces in showbiz, Angel has just one insecurity. Angel further shared that she had already met Andi during a photo shoot, and that was where she personally saw the resemblance that people were talking about. Tsaka bagets. Baka pwede ko siyang maging nakababatang kapatid.” Angel on her part also agreed to the idea of putting her and Andi in one project. “Why not? Kaya may mapag-uusapan kami.” Agua Bendita continues to be a top-rater now with Andi and leading men Matteo Guidicelli and Jason Abalos in the story. On the other hand, Angel is gearing up for her movie with Aga Muhlach and a teleserye with John Lloyd Cruz.

Angel Locsin puts up a bar and KTV business by Napoleon Quintos | April 01, 2010 4:25 AM | Share this articleAngel Locsin will celebrate her 25th birthday this April 23 by opening her business, Fuel Up Bar and KTV in Don Antonio, Quezon City. But as early as now, the establishment is already in full operation following its soft opening last March 26. ABS-CBN.com had the chance to visit the said bar during its soft opening to witness the place jam-packed with guests. Angel had the help of her sister and other friends in putting up Fuel Up. The name was inspired by her passion for cars, “Mahilig kasi ako sa sasakyan. Gusto ko ng kahit na anong related sa sasakyan, sa kalye, sa gas station, sa garahe,” she told in an interview for Showbiz News Ngayon. Even before the grand opening, which will happen on her birthday, Angel is already inviting everyone to come visit her bar. “Hindi pa tapos ‘yung interior eh. Pero we’re excited. Sana puntahan niyo.” This is just the beginning of Angel’s aim to put the money she is earning from showbiz into wise investments. The actress knows that being in showbiz is not something she can do forever. Her preparation in putting up a bar and KTV place might be one of the reasons she has been intrigued to have an addiction to alcohol. According to nasty write ups, she had been spotted several times drinking in bars with friends. Angel explained that the reason behind her frequent bar visits was ‘immersion’ for her role as a ‘Japayuki’ in a movie with Aga Muhlach.

Prime time to daytime is the goal By Marinel Cruz Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 02:50:00 04/04/2010 BORACAY ISLAND, Philippines—The Kapamilya network is on a roll. “Our goal is overall leadership. We’re bringing importance to daytime programming,” said ABS-CBN business unit head Deo Endrinal on the first night of a two-day trade launch here. The network announced that over 10 programs will premiere in the first quarter of 2010. Four of these will be aired on either the “Prime Tanghali” (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or the “Hapontastic” (3 to 5 p.m.) slots. “That’s bringing prime time to daytime in terms of quality, storytelling and casting. It’s sort of an all-day prime time,” Endrinal told Inquirer Entertainment at the dinner party that the network hosted for advertisers at the Boracay Regency Hotel. Joining the “Hapontastic” block is the fantasy-drama “Rosal Ka,” featuring Empress Shuck, Felix Roco and Matt Evans; directed by Jeffrey Jeturian. The suspense-thriller “Isla,” which premieres March 21, airs in the same block. Part of the “Your Song” series, “Isla” stars Gerald Anderson and talents from the recently concluded reality program, “Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up.” “Gimik 2010: The Reunion” features characters popularized by Judy Ann Santos, Mylene Dizon, Bojo Molina and Diether Ocampo in the early 1990s. Melisa Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, or Melason, have a new show in “Prime Tanghali.” The duo, both winners in “Double Up,” will be seen in what the network calls a “reali-serye” titled “Melason in the City.” “Dapat laging bago. Dapat laging may thrill (Always something new, always a thrill)... This is the new look of prime-time,” said network president Charo Santos-Concio at another dinner, in the exclusive Boracay Fairways and Bluewater on the second night of the launch. Concio shared the stage with channel head Cory Vidanes as they launched seven shows for “Primetime Bida” (5 to 11 p.m.): “Kristine Series by Martha Cecilia,” starring Cristine Reyes. “Precious Hearts Romances: Impostor,” with Maja Salvador and Sam Milby. “Lobo 2: Impostor,” featuring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz.[/color] “Magkaribal” which top-bills Gretchen Barretto, Bea Alonzo and Derek Ramsay. Piolo Pascual in a new show with child actors Ziajian Jaranilla (“May Bukas Pa”) and Xyriel Anne Manabat (“Agua Bendita”). New shows for “Agimat Presents: Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla” starring Jason Abalos in “Bianong Bulag,” EJ Falcon in “Pepeng Kuryente,” Enchong Dee in “Boy Putik” and Jolo Revilla in “Kapitan Inggo.” A new season of “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition” to be titled “Clash of 2010 Uber.” showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/entertainment/entertainment/view/20100404-262255/Prime-time-to-daytime-is-the-goal

Luis: I’ll win her backBy Marinel Cruz Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 18:39:00 04/04/2010 Filed Under: Celebrities, relationships and dating, Cinema, Entertainment (general) Most Read Other Most Read Stories x Entertainment o A taste of Calvary o Luis: I’ll win her back o Cool tales from the hot spot that is H’wood o How stars of the new TV5 see the boss o Out of the closet, out of the scene o ‘It’s a dark, cold and lonely world without faith’ o Not just waiting for the big break o Eugene not a prima donna o Fresh and bracing ‘reality’ sitcom off to a good start o Up close with Jason Castro Entertainment Most Read RSS Close this “I’m hoping that in the end, there will be reconciliation. So far, so good.” This was how actor-TV host Luis Manzano described his efforts to woo former girlfriend, actress Angel Locsin. Almost a year after their controversial breakup, Luis and Angel still refuse to discuss why it happened. “I’m very thankful that we’re able to rebuild our friendship. In every breakup, there’s always anger and bitterness. I’m happy that we’ve gone past those,” Luis told Inquirer Entertainment. “I think friendship is the foundation of everything. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get back together.” The ex-couple have denied that a “third party” caused their split in August 2009. In a TV interview, Luis’ mom, award-winning actress and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos, refused to elaborate on the issue, but said that the separation “was not because they lacked time for each other.” “I’m not denying that I’m trying to win her back. I’m working things out,” Luis stressed. He added that he and Angel are taking things very slowly: “Ngayon pa lang, we’re already trying to iron kinks out. I understand that it’s a long process.” Luis also said that despite the breakup, his family is still very fond of Angel, especially his mom. “Angel has always been welcome at home. In fact, mom invited her last Christmas. She just didn’t make it,” he recounted. Aside from co-hosting the reality program “Pilipinas Got Talent” with Billy Crawford, Luis is busy with the Wenn Deramas film “Hating Kapatid,” which also features Judy Ann Santos and Sarah Geronimo. Effective actress Luis plays Sarah’s boyfriend in the film about the relationship of two sisters, Rica (Judy Ann) and Cecil (Sarah). “For the longest time, I’ve been limited to working with Anne (Curtis) and Toni (Gonzaga). It’s very refreshing to work with Sarah,” Luis said. “After watching her movies with John Lloyd (Cruz, “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life”), I saw how effective an actress Sarah really is.” He added: “There’s no kissing scene. I don’t think I’m worthy to be Sarah’s first on-cam kiss. I think our on-screen partnership still has to go through a lot for that to really happen.” Is there a chance he’ll fall in love with someone like Sarah? “I have no idea. Love has a funny way of surprising us,” he pointed out. “Right now, Sarah and I are perfectly happy with our working relationship. She is one of the few people I completely trust. She knows my secrets in the same way that I know what she’s going through.” showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/entertainment/entertainment/view/20100404-262336/Luis:_I%92ll_win_her_back

please bear with me if this is a bit of old but i just want to post this for my record, can't remember seeing this before .... Kung manginginom, Boy, that's why they called it a beer-belly." Kasi [day] off ng driver ko. OTHER ISSUES. FRIENDS AND FANS SUPPORT. Bawal magsinungaling, bawal ma-late.

i love dolly ann for this article ..let's send her an e-mail as an appreciation angels ------------------------------- Dollywood Angel just wants to have good, clean fun By Dolly Anne Carvajal Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 21:42:00 04/05/2010 Filed Under: Television, Cinema, Entertainment (general), Celebrities *** My heart goes out to Angel Locsin. All the negative write-ups about her are nothing but a smear campaign. Just because she’s seen hanging out in bars doesn’t make her an alcoholic. In the same way that people inside a church are no saints. Almost everyone in the biz can attest to how tame, simple and kind she is. A colleague told me that she saw Angel help clean up a total stranger who collapsed at a bar. Let’s give her a break. She’s one hard-working girl. After work, she more than deserves to enjoy and unwind. This update is not new and the news report is verbatim from what has been previously reported in prior month so this looks like a re-print of a news article. Anyway, I am still re-posting this because it makes me proud to know that our own local shows are being watched by non-Filipinos abroad and characters portrayed by our fave stars are now similarly being loved by them.
It is also noteworthy to know that Angel Locsin’s Lobo, her first teleserye in ABS-CBN, is enjoying wide viewership abroad and will soon be shown in other countries.
Soar higher Angel!!!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Drama from Philippines to the world In the most recent past, the Filipino television audience have been hooked on drama series from countries in South America, particularly Mexico and Argentina, Asia, most specially Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Now, it’s the Philippines’ turn to show the world what this small country in the Pacific can offer. While Filipinos around the world have been enjoying drama series from the Kapamilya network, little many Filipinos in the archipelago know that ABS-CBN programs have become hits in other nations as well. Recently, Pangako sa ‘Yo was telecast on China’s national television and, believe it or not, it rated second over all local and foreign programs airing in the country. Ten years after Filipinos became so attached to the Kristine Hermosa-Jericho Rosales tandem, the now classic teleserye still appealed to the Chinese audience and even hit the Top 30 list in the national weekly ranking, covering over 2,000 channels and capturing 1.3 billion viewers. Prior to China, the love story of Angelo Buenavista and Yna Macaspac have mesmerized people in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and even Africa. As Cambodian Nai Hiu Mei recounts, “The teleserye, broadcast here dubbed in Khmer, was so popular that many Cambodian babies have been named Angelo.” The Times of Zambia writer Meluse Kapatamoyo wrote, “The series has become a topic of discussion among families, friends and even neighbors who daily ponder on how the show would end.” René Lötter of One Africa Television said, “When is Pangako sa’Yo coming back?’ I wish I could get a dollar each time I get that question. From teenager to grandma, from household organizers to tax consultant—it’s gripped people across all genders.” Aside from Pangako sa ‘Yo (known internationally as The Promise), several other homegrown entertainment programs have been brought to a broader global audience through the pioneering efforts of ABS-CBN Global’s International Sales and Distribution (ISD). Carried by the biggest state television broadcaster in China, Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin (a.k.a. Only You) aired on primetime, alongside Pangako sa ‘Yo. Meanwhile, Sana Maulit Muli (a.k.a. Chances), Maging Sino Ka Man (a.k.a. More Than Love) and Gulong ng Palad (a.k.a. Stand for Love) are expected to be aired in the Republic soon. Also earning international recognition worldwide is the Angel Locsin-Piolo Pascual starrer Lobo (a.k.a. She-Wolf: The Last Sentinel). In the recently concluded 2009 International Emmy Awards, She-Wolf was recognized for the stellar performance of Angel Locsin who received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress. This recognition is second for the show, which won the Best Telenovela award at the 30th BANFF World Television Festival in Toronto, Canada last year. Currently, the program is enjoying wide viewership in Brunei and is anticipated to be released in other countries in Indo-China, Asia, Europe and Africa this year. ABS-CBN shows are subtitled and dubbed in several languages, including English, Turkish, Khmer, Mandarin, and French. One of the programs dubbed in French is Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay (a.k.a. La Longue Attente in French and The Long Wait in English) will cater to French-speaking viewers in Africa and Europe. According to International Sales and Distribution Head Reena Garingan, ABS-CBN programs are easily bought because they resonate to the African audience. “Our writers, directors and actors are able to capture real-life experiences on screen. Our stories show pain and suffering but in the end, give viewers a glimpse of hope. As we demonstrate that obstacles and fear may be overcome, we help mend the broken African spirit,” Garingan said. For more than a decade, ISD has been the premier source of top quality programs from the Philippines, making ABS-CBN Global the first and the biggest Philippine content distributor in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia-Pacific and the leading Asian distributor in Africa. Through ISD, Kapamilya shows have become so popular among non-Filipinos that ABS-CBN is now regarded as a market mover and thought leader in the field of broadcasting in Africa. Angel Locsin shares that her personalized bus is also a business investment Aside from her black Hummer, a rest house in Batangas, and her very own resto-bar Fuel Up, the latest addition to Angel Locsin’s investments is a personalized bus similar to what Governor Vilma Santos and Kris Aquino have bought last year. And just like her other cars, Angel had it painted black which has always been her favorite color. “Hindi pa siya natatapos hanggang ngayon. Kapag tapos na invite ko kayo. Kasi ako mismo nag-set up nun e. Kami ni Diet (Diether Ocampo) actually sabay kami nagpagawa,” she says in an interview with Showbiz News Ngayon. What’s interesting though is that Angel purchased it not only for personal use but she also intends to rent it out for other people to enjoy such luxurious means of transport. SNN host Toni Gonzaga herself is very excited to take a look at Angel’s customized bus. But anyway, meron nga akong konting alam tungkol dun e. Boy Abunda on the other hand explains why a lot of Kapamilya celebrities are aiming to buy such means of transport these days. – by Rachelle Siazon, April 07, 2010 11:55 AM, ABS-CBN

Designer Ariel Agasang slighted over Angel and Dingdong’s non-participation in his coffee table book By ALEX VALENTIN BROSASApril 8, 2010, 4:06pm MANILA BULLETIN
Fashion designer Ariel Agasang felt slighted when Angel Locsin and Dingdong Dantes did not honor their earlier commitment to participate in his coffee table book.
Angel and Dingdong were supposed to shoot for Agasang’s A-List book. They have already committed their participation months ago and were even excited when told that they would join the other achievers in the world of politics, sports, culture and arts, show business, broadcasting, society, and business. Among those who will be featured are Mel Tiangco, Cory Quirino, Lani Misalucha, Glydel Mercado, and a host of others.
Agasang, who provides the couple clothes for their events, was expecting that Angel and Dingdong will honor their verbal agreement for the photo shoot. But when his staff did the followup to Angel’s manager then, Becky Aguila, he was allegedly given a run around.
The same thing happened when a followup was made to the office of Dingdong’s manager Perry Lansingan.
Aguila reportedly agreed to have her talent, Angel, participate in the making of the coffee table book. However, this agreement was made when the actress was still with Aguila.
To replace Angel and Dingdong, Agasang called the office of Star Magic and sought the services of Kim Chiu and Piolo Pascual. The fashion designer heaved a sigh of relief when the Star Magic boss readily said yes to the project without asking too many questions.
Agasang is a well-known designer to the stars, who has also mounted fashion shows abroad. Among the celebrities he clothed are Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino, Arnel Pineda, Lani Misalucha, and Piolo Pascual.
