Angel Locsin admits she’s happy to be single for nowby Rachelle Siazon | March 07, 2010 1:26 AM Around six months after they broke up, Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano are still far from being back together again, in spite of the latter’s efforts to make up for all the lost time. In a recent interview with Angel, she insisted that there’s no need for them to rush things especially because whatever issues they have as a couple are not easily fixed. “Okay naman kami. Oo, nakakapag-usap kami. Paano ko ba sasabihin ‘to? Ganon pa rin, kung papa’no kami, mas okay,” says Angel who is clearly not sure of her own feelings about Luis at this point in time. “Sa akin kasi wala naman ako dapat sabihin ngayon. Kung ano man kami ni Luis ngayon we’re happy. Siguro bigay ni’yo muna sa amin. Kung magiging kami naman, magiging kami. Hindi naman kami nagmamadali e. Hindi naman kailangan maging kami agad. Wala naman kaming tinatago sa tao. Basta ano na lang muna, hindi ganon kadali yung mga bagay bagay.” When told that Luis said that he regrets his mistakes in the past and he’s willing to do anything just to win her back, Angel was caught by surprise since they haven’t talked about what really went wrong with their relationship yet. “Sabi niya? Hm… As much as possible kasi hindi namin pinag-uusapan kung ano man nangyari nung past. Kaya hindi ko alam yung sinasabi niya sa inyo. Ahhh ano ba, hindi ko talaga alam kung anong sasabihin ko,” Angel reiterated. One thing is for sure though, the young actress was deeply hurt by Luis which is why she’s having a hard time making up her mind. “Ayoko nung effort kasi ako yung may problem e. Ako naman yung hindi pa ready. Ayoko naman kasing mag-effort ng mag-effort yung tao na hindi ako okay. Mag-aaway lang kami. Ayoko naman ng ganon. Kawawa naman siya,” she explained. Nevertheless, Angel admitted that Luis will always have a special place in her heart. “Ano naman kasi, si Luis hindi naman siya mawawala sa puso ko. Kung gaano siya ka-special noon, ganoon pa rin siya sa akin ngayon. Pero siyempre kailangan lang namin ng space.” But does it mean she is ready to be in another relationship? “Ay masarap maging single! Kasi baka isipin ng mga tao kailangan dependent tayo sa mga lalaki para maging masaya. Masarap maging single, masarap magmahal. Depende lang ‘yan kung pa’no mo dadalhin ang sarili mo,” she beamed. Perhaps it helps that she’s keeping herself busy with her upcoming projects in ABS-CBN as well as her soon to be opened resto-bar called Fuel Up. “Oo nga e. Punta kayo dun ‘pag natapos na. Sa may Commonwealth (Quezon City) lang, malapit lang siya. Tapos hindi talaga siya tambayan area so kung gusto niyo magpunta dun chill chill lang, tapos sa taas may KTV. Pero ano ha, hindi naman siya big time bar talaga. Pero chill lang talaga. Baka mga April siguro ang opening. Sa ngayon inaayos lang namin yung interior kasi wala naman kaming interior designer. Kami-kami (her dad Angel Colmenares and a few non-showbiz friends) lang talaga ang nagaayos so bahala na,” she added. www.abs-cbn.com/Feature/Article/6830/Angel-Locsin-admits-she-s-happy-to-be-single-for-now.aspx

Young Voices get Malacañang honors Monday, March 8, 2010 The Young Voices of Negros received the Ani ng Dangal award of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts from President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at rites held in Malacañang recently. The award was given to the group composed of Ma. Ana Kristina, 15, Ma. Ana Katrina, 13, and Kristopherson Madrigal, 10, who sing the soprano, alto and tenor, respectively. They are the children of musical director and arranger Art Madrigal and singer Joann Agsam of Bacolod City. The Ani ng Dangal Award is being given to Filipinos who bring honor to the country in the area of culture and arts. The other awardees included director Cathy Garcia Molina and actress Angel Locsin who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in the 2009 International Emmy Awards for her role in the Kapamilya series “Lobo” opposite Piolo Pascual. The Young Voices of Negros also won in 2009 as the Grand Champion Group Vocalist of the World, besting contestants from 40 other countries, their father Art Madrigal said. He said they also received special citations given by Mayor Evelio Leonardia during the Ang Banwahanon Award in 2009. Madrigal said that after the Ani ng Dangal awarding rites in Malacañang, the group was invited to perform at the Supreme Court where they were given a standing ovation. He said they were also invited to perform at the opening of the Asean Festival Awards on March 10 and are also being eyed to represent the Philippines in Sydney, Australia at the Summit Musical Festival. Madrigal said the Young Voices of Negros will also perform during the opening of the 2010 Panaad Festival in Bacolod City. He said that, as parents, they are happy that the children have gained international, national and local awards, which they had not attained in their own time. “I believe this is a God-given talent that we parents must cultivate in them”, Madrigal said, adding that they harmonize among themselves with less coaching from their parents, attributing it to their genes. Madrigal said singing comes naturally to them and that, because of their environment, they started singing early in life. He said they have a music studio where the children practice and this encouraged them to develop their talents. Singer Charice Pempengco also came to them last August to be coached by them for her songs abroad, consisting of a Tagalog medley, he added.*CGS www.visayandailystar.com/2010/March/08/people.htm

Angel in new series with John LloydETHEL RAMOS Cheska Litton, the pretty and smart entertainment reporter of the entertainment news program, "Showbiz News Ngayon" (SNN), suddenly found herself the subject of intrigues as her fellow TV showbiz reporters began asking her questions while they waited for Angel Locsin at the 9501 Restaurant in the ELJ Building. Angel was to sign a renewal of her contract with ABS-CBN, again for two years. She phoned in that she was arriving late as she was coming from Tagaytay for a photo shoot of the station ID of ABS-CBN. Poor Cheska, on the other hand, was red-faced as the other TV reporters kept pressuring her for an answer to current rumors that she is the apple of the eye of actor Jericho Rosales. Jericho and Cheska have been spotted together many times "hanging out," as Jericho said. When Angel finally came in with her dad, Angel Colmenares, her road manager, Jennifer Dy (JD to friends) and a few others, Cheska heaved a sigh of relief. Angel and her dad were warmly welcomed by top executives of ABS-CBN, Cory Vidanes, Malou Santos and Linggit Tan. Angel will start taping for her first series this year in early April. She will have John Lloyd Cruz for her leading man, she was told. telebisyon.net/balita/Angel-in-new-series-with-John-Lloyd/source/98392/

I don’t want to meddle sa kanila. Nagkakausap kami pag magkasama, but to tell them what to do, ayoko.
May artistang endorser ka ba?
Wala!

New Folded and Hung Billboard of Angel LocsinThe new Billboard of Miss Angel Locsin that is already scattered all over the Metro is truly an eye catcher for all travelers. One of this billboard (as seen on this post) is in the entrance of C5 road just by the bridge coming from Pasig going to Tagiug. It really hard not to look at it. I mean its Angel Locsin in BIKINI in the a GIANT BILLBOARD. Even I who ride a motorcycle have time to look 3 – 4 time for a few seconds what else those on trucks, private cars and specially those who ride taxis to work (lucky bastard). Which mean imminent car crash in the road. But who cares its Angel Locsin in BIKINI in the a GIANT BILLBOARD. wardonthenet.com/?p=2070

Sexiest Women of the Decade grace FHM-Philippines 10th anniversary celebration Bong Godinez Friday, March 12, 2010 03:04 PM FHM Philippines marked its 10th anniversary with a big party last night, March 11, at the NBC Tent in Taguig City Past and present cover girls graced the occasion, including the latest issue-cover darlings Bangs Garcia and Iwa Moto, of course. The two sexy vixens share front-page credits in the magazine's special anniversary edition, FHM's thickest issue to date. Aside from Iwa and Bangs, plus other featured ladies, the latest issue chronicles 10 years of FHM by looking back at milestones that shaped the magazine's reputation. Serving as the evening's highlight was the presentation of the 25 Sexiest Women of the Decade as chosen by FHM Philippines. Celebrities Aubrey Miles, Bangs Garcia, Cristine Reyes, Eula Valdes, Francine Prieto, Iwa Moto, Jean Garcia, Katrina Halili, Katya Santos, and Valerie Concepcion all took centerstage to acknowledge the honor. Those who made it to the list but were unable to attend were Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban, Asia Agcaoili, Assunta de Rossi, Bianca King, Cindy Kurleto, Cristine Garcia, Diana Zubiri, Dina Bonnevie, Ehra Madrigal, Jackie Rice, Joyce Jimenez, Maureen Larrazabal, Maui Taylor, Patricia Javier, Rufa Mae Quinto, and Sunshine Cruz. Radio jocks Slick Rick, Tony Toni, and Sam YG hosted the event while the Jay Contreras-led band Kamikazee rocked the evening away ELITE LIST OF BEAUTIES. FHM Philippines editor-in-chief Allan Madrilejos in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) revealed that coming up with the unranked list was based more on editorial team instincts than on method. "Sa sampung taon natin sa magazine, parang imposible na hindi mo alam kung sinu-sino 'yong talagang mahal ng mga mambabasa mo," said Allan. "May sense of objectivity, siyempre, kailangan mong magtanong sa ibang editors, sa Summit [Media, FHM-Philippines' publishing company], sa ibang mga kaibigan natin. Malaking bagay din 'yong mga hits nila sa ating www.fhm.com.ph. Nagtanong din tayo sa ating mga advertising team as far as revenues and circulation. Siyempre, malaking bagay 'yon." The team also gave major consideration to personalities who played a huge role in the magazine's steady climb to the top. Madrilejos cited Sunshine Cruz, the magazine's first Pinay cover during its infancy and sexy actress Diana Zubiri, whose cover shoot done on a Mandaluyong flyover in 2002 prompted the city government to issue a subpoena against the magazine's staff. They were among the celebrities who left an indelible mark on FHM's rich history. The process was not easy. Many celebrities had generously accepted the magazine's invitation to pose for its pages. "Ginawa namin 'yong list as representation ng past, present and future ng magazine... Sila 'yong kumakatawan sa growth ng FHM," he added. Other personalities spotted by PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the NBC Tent were Aubrey Miles's boyfriend Troy Montero, Eat Bulaga's Julia Clarete, actor Sid Lucero, and award-winning poet and television host Lourd de Veyra. www.pep.ph/news/24963/Sexiest-Women-of-the-Decade-grace-%3Cem%3EFHM-%3C-em%3EPhilippines-10%3Csup%3Eth%3C-sup%3E-anniversary-celebration

For the love of Mom DIRECTLINE By Boy Abunda (The Philippine Star) Updated March 12, 2010 12:00 AM If you want something, ask for it. It takes courage and humility to do this. It was not easy for Francine Prieto to ask for financial help from anyone in the entertainment industry who cared. And a lot do care. Kris Aquino, Angel Locsin[/color], along with many others — friends and acquaintances alike sent help that amounted to close to a million pesos. After Francine’s interview in The Buzz, I got calls from friends asking how and where they can send help for Francine. Coming out to The Buzz must have been a torturous journey. It’s humbling to cry out, “I want to work.” Even if she gained a few pounds, Francine remains a beautiful girl. But tough times are here not just for Francine but for many people. “Despair not about your woes,” someone once wrote, “because the next person you meet may be carrying a heavier cross.” *snipped www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=557198&publicationSubCategoryId=70
