Credit: Boy Abunda (The Philippine Star) Is it really over for Angel & Luis?Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano bumped into each other during a performance in A.S.A.P. Is it really over for Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano? The two accidentally bumped into each other during a performance in A.S.A.P. They both didn’t know that they were included in the opening number. “Dun lang uli kami nagkita. Biglaan. I didn’t know he was included in the opening number. So medyo nakakaloka ang reaction ko,” explained Angel. “I didn’t notice if we held hands. I am not sure and I cannot remember,” said Luis. Angel also revealed that they were not talking to each other after the break-up. “It’s kinda weird if we continue to talk to each other. Break na nga di ba,” she reasoned out. “I just want to be true to myself. Weird naman kung chummy chummy kami agad. I was really surprised to see him at the opening number of A.S.A.P. I think he, too, was surprised.” But do they still love each other? “That is one question I cannot answer right now. I miss the way we were but I don’t miss him.” Luis said that his mother, Gov. Vi, misses Angel a lot. “My mother loves Angel so much and I can really say and I am very sure that my mom misses Angel.” Angel said that the governor will always be her idol. “Whatever happens, I am here to support her.” Asked if she has found a new love, Angel enthused, “Hindi ako nagmamadali. Gabriela ako, at marunong mag-isip.” Is it game over for Angel and Luis? Abangan! Updated November 09, 2009 12:00 AM

Credit: Vanessa A. Balbuena (The Freeman) TJ Trinidad finds niche in serious rolesCEBU, Philippines - Unreasonable martyrdom can be emotionally and physically taxing, even if it’s just for a role. When TJ Trinidad recently visited Cebu, he seemed beat and looked like he needed some shut-eye, not in perfect condition to face people and meet his fans. Similar to the personas he portrays on TV and in movies, he comes off as this serious and intense guy, someone who doesn’t easily break into a smile. But in fairness to TJ, it was all due to his commitment to his current character as the emotionally tortured Tristan whose pure love for a girl doesn’t get compensated in GMA-7’s “Stairway to Heaven”, yet another adaptation of a top-rating Koreanovela. “Kakagising ko lang kasi. This morning, tuloy-tuloy ang taping, tapos straight to the airport, nag- outreach pa kami so I haven't really slept. If I come off aloof, it’s not really intentional. I'm not trying to be serious, in fact, I want to be funny and lively. Sa show na ‘Stairway To Heaven’, definitely the drama and intensity is much more than in ‘Zorro’. Sa ‘Zorro’ kasi, pwede ko pang laruin yun eh. There were times na it was almost comical, yung pagiging antagonist ko doon.” “But in ‘Stairway’, this one is so intense. For me, there's no break in it. Even in my light moments with Jenna/Jodi, still it comes off serious because everything that Jenna says or does, I always read into it, parang ‘Bakit? Bakit?’... kasi sobrang insecure ni Tristan/Charlie. So there's no break from the intensity,” he explains. True enough, his depth and expressiveness in tackling a role of someone so hopelessly in love with his stepsister has drawn praises for the 33-year-old actor. When Rhian Ramos' character, Jodi, emerges from a car accident with amnesia, he hides her and makes her believe she is someone else. Tristan makes Jodi believe she is in love with him and he will sacrifice anything just for her. TJ shares that it's not easy to be assigned a character who's always forlorn and depressed, because he can't be cheerful on set to help him maintain his character and that can be really draining. Does he mind playing supporting roles in the Kapuso station when he was a leading man in ABS-CBN? "I'm a firm believer that there are no small roles, only small actors. After 'Gulong ng Palad', it was a while before they gave me another leading man role which was 'Prinsesa ng Banyera' with Kristine Hermosa. Before that, they also gave me kontrabida roles like in 'Hiram' with Heart Evangelista and Geoff Eigenmann. In 'Walang Kapalit', I was somewhat an antagonist there for Piolo Pascual and Claudine Barretto. If the work is good, hindi naman problema if I’m the lead or not, it's just a title anyway, being a leading man. This one (the Tristan role) is very, very difficult. Your capacity as an actor will really be tested." This is the third time that TJ has worked with Rhian Ramos. They were first seen together in the Richard Guiterrez-Angel Locsin movie "The Promise" and then in the primetime series "Zorro". It helps that he and Rhian have become friends, so there are no inhibitions when they are shooting scenes together. What were the changes he saw in Rhian since they first worked together? "Oh she has grown by leaps and bounds! 'The Promise' was her first film, eh. It was just a matter of having the basic emotions of being happy or sad. Now, it's more than just that. My in-betweens na yan eh. May nuances na for every emotion, like doubt, fear, curiosity...it's not just black and white for her now. She has improved in that sense. More than trying to act naturally, it's about being her character now." A grandson of the veteran actor Noel Trinidad, TJ has always wanted to become an actor but had to sacrifice his dream because his parents wanted him to finish his schooling. After getting his degree in Marketing Management at De La Salle University, he first worked as a money market trader, then later on became one of the pioneers of a company that distributes electronic prepaid cards. Unfortunately, the company folded up, but instead of feeling discouraged, he took that as a sign that perhaps he was really cut out for showbiz. Edu Manzano was a family friend, so TJ called him up for advice on how to jumpstart his acting career and it was Edu who then introduced him to his first manager. After a lull in the Kapamilya network, he changed managers and is now under the care of Anabelle Rama. TJ says he is not exclusively signed with GMA, but is in a per project basis status. His manager being the mother of Richard Gutierrez, it can't be helped that Anabelle's priority will be her son and that plum projects be considered for Richard first, being one of the top male leads in GMA-7. The Freeman asked TJ if he feels this is a disadvantage for him. "No, because look at what's happening to my career. Iba naman kasi yung linya ni Chard sa linya ko eh. I've always been fitted in drama, although I love action since I've also trained in martial arts. But Chard has always been the action hero. Kumbaga yun ang forte niya. I've always done more of drama and character roles...so ibang-iba." "Tita Annabelle has done a great job since we've been together. I can't complain. Richard is her son, but I'm close to them, practically like family because my dad and Tito Eddie (Guiterrez) are close friends so it's not a problem for me. Regardless of how people perceive her to be, she's a very good manager, she does her job very well. Hindi ka niya pababayaan. If the time comes that I'm given a lead role, I'm sure she'll give me the same amount of importance. Of course that's subject to argument but I'm very happy with our working relationship. We're all there to help each other out. If Richard has a project, we're all there to support it, same thing if I have a project and so on and so forth with all her talents," he says. TJ also stars with Richard Gutierrez and Cristine Reyes in "Patient X", a horror film by Yam Llaranas produced by Viva, GMA Films and Richard's RGutz Production, which is still currently running in theaters. He plays here another intense semi-antagonist, Alfred Molina, the town's police chief whose family gets massacred by a clan of aswangs, and he seeks out Richard who suffered the same fate when he was a child. He captures the wife of one of the aswangs, Guada (Cristine Reyes) and vows revenge against her clan. Updated November 08, 2009 12:00 AM

Credit: Manila Bulletin Aga reveals life-long dream, talks about becoming a Kapuso"We are all instruments to help. My life-long dream is to build schools so I’m committing myself to build one or two classrooms a year.” This, Aga Muhlach declared at the recent Jollibee MaAga ang Pasko kick-off held at SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia where the awarding of the Jolly Toy Scouts from 30 schools nationwide and over 20 partner companies was also held. The event aims to help spread the Christmas spirit because being a Jolly Toy Scout allows children and even adults to take part in the spirit of giving by actively seeking donations for toys and books. The longest running toy and book donation drive in the country, Jollibee MaAga ang Pasko helps make Christmas happen despite the recent typhoons that affected the country. “Ngayong papalapit ang Pasko, tulungan natin na ipadama sa kanila na may Pasko pa din kahit maraming nawala sa kanila,” said Aga having in mind the victims of Ondoy and Pepeng. Now on its 15th year, Jollibee MaAga ang Pasko aims to double the Jolly Toy Scouts – recruiting once again both children and adults alike – and doubling the donations by matching every toy or book collected with a Jollibee toy to be given to more underprivileged Filipino children nationwide, Albert Cuadrante, VP for Marketing, Jollibee Foods Corp. announced. Aga also announced to the press people his great endeavor, “Since we are in our 15th year, whatever I give, they [Jollibee] will also give. If I will build one classroom this year, they will build one also. If I build two, they will build two. Actually when I said this, marami agad ang gustong tumulong. It’s not only gonna be every Christmas. And this is coming from my heart. It’s something I really wanna do. It’s something really important kasi ang mga kabataan na ito ang lalaki at magpapatakbo ng bansa natin balang araw. I want to thank all the people who has been helping us for 15 years. At sa mga Pasko pang darating.” Celebrating Christmas Aga shared his family’s way of celebrating Christmas. “It’s still the same. But with MaAga ang Pasko, every week lumalabas kami. Babalikan namin lahat ang mga nasalanta ng bagyo and give them toys, books, notebooks, bags, and others,” he said. He also added that with these kinds of activities, he really wants his family to get involved. “This time I’m excited with the caravan we launched. Mondays and Wednesdays, mag-iikot kami sa mga barangay, eskwelahan at mamimigay kami ng mga laruan at gamit pang-eskwelahan. This Christmas ang mga pupuntahan namin ay yung mga nasalanta ng bagyo. But next year will really be bigger. Hindi lang tuwing Pasko, kundi buong taon [makakapagbigay ng tulong].” Being a parent, Aga said that you have to be a good influence in giving and helping others. “You don’t force them. What they see kasi yun ang ginagaya nila e.” No to politics “Last ko na talaga sasabihin, hindi ako papasok sa pulitika. Hindi talaga. Kung ano man ang ginagawa ko na to, ito ay para sa Jollibee, sa MaAga ang Pasko, sa mga eskwelahan na gusto naming itayo at marami pa akong i-a-announce next year also. It has nothing to do with politics. I have nothing against it but when the time comes that I believe na may sistema na talagang tama ang umaandar, that’s the only time I would consider. But right now, no. No talaga,” Aga expressed when asked if his actions meant a political view in the future. Aga would rather concentrate on family life but he and wife Charlene Gonzales have no plans of having another baby. “We’d always talk about it, [it’s nice to] carry a kid like that [again] but then, ang saya e. Mahirap man paniwalaan, what’s happening now sa amin, it’s just close to perfect really. I’m just so blessed with a wonderful wife. That’s why kung ano man ang ikinababait ko, ikinagaganda ng buhay ko, I give it to my wife really. She’s been good to me and very supportive,” he proudly said. For their twin Andres and Atasha, he doesn’t want them to enter showbiz. “Parehas nasa showbiz ang magulang [nila] but siyempre like any other parents, sasabihin muna natin [dapat] makatapos muna sila ng pag-aaral. But right after college at naisipan nila, hindi ko sila pipigilan,” Aga remarked. Going Kapuso?
Aga only does one film a year. Given a handful of film projects – a movie with Regine Velasquez, Angel Locsin and Lea Salonga respectively – Aga announced that he’ll be coming back on TV January next year.
“I’ll be having a TV show on January 2010. We’ll start taping on December,” he said.
Though he stressed that the show is not a sitcom like he always does, but a weekly show.
When asked whether it will be aired still in his home network, he jested, “Channel 4… Channel 3?” which heightened rumors that he will be jumping over to GMA next year. It has been reported that Aga will replace Richard Gomez in “Family Feud,” because the latter is running for congressman in Ormoc City come 2010 elections.
Will it be possible? Aga has just appeared in ABS-CBN’s Christmas Station ID with a movie with Angel Locsin under Star Cinema in the works. November 8, 2009, 1:59pm

And we’re ready to declare Ms. ANGEL LOCSIN as 2009 AccessPinoy Top Leading Lady. After more than 226,000 votes cast in a span of two months, and after more than 1,000 comments (good and bad) from fans and supporters, the verdict is in. Take a closer look at the final poll numbers: Angel Locsin vs. Marian Rivera: Who’s Winning the Battle?
* Of course Angel Locsin, tinatanong pa ba yan? 52% (116,914 votes) * Naturalmente Marian Rivera, walang duda! 48% (110,020 votes) Total Votes: 226,934Yes, it was close fight between Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera. There were two times during the two-month poll when Marian inched higher than Angel. But that’s never important, because in the end Angel Locsin prevailed. Hoorrraaaaayyyy to Angel! Angel has conquered (either by herself or through the help of fans) anything thrown at her, right? So what could be the next achievement she could possibly reap? The Best Actress trophy perhaps in the 2009 International Emmy Awards to be held in New York City come November 23? Since that award is only chosen by judges and peers, the only way fans of Angel can do is PRAY for her to win! Good luck!!! Posted on November 8, 2009

credit: philippinetimes Modern Darnas meetThe highest-rating and the newest Darna has finally met. Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera, the two latest actresses who donned the red two-piece suit and gold headdress of the most famous Filipina heroine, met personally for the first time. Contrary to expectations, the two actresses often seen as rivals after Marian filled up the shoes Angel left in GMA 7 when she moved to ABS-CBN were amicable when they met for the first time. The meeting happened when Angel approached Marian for her Shop and Share project, an online bidding for various branded possessions of the stars the proceeds of which will go to the victims of the typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. Angel personally met up with Marian to collect the items which the latter readily agreed to contribute for the charitable project. According to Marian, Angel—who got one of the highest ratings on primetime television for her “Darna”—sent a message to Marian's manager asking for their help in the shopandshare.com venture. She readily agreed and they met up in the house of Marian's manager. Marian relates that she is happy that the meeting finally happened because it puts a stop to all the rumours that the two of them are at odds because of the circumstances concerning their career. Both Angel and Marian only had good words for each other. Angel is just grateful to Marian for her assistance in Shop and Share. Marian, meanwhile, said that the of them just did not talk about the rumours surrounding them. What they did talk about are their experiences as Darna. Both actresses, apparently had to put up with injuries just to give their televiewers their favourite Pinay superhero. Marian shared that she always gets cuts and bruises, while Angel said that the harness always chafes her skin. Well, since the two of them get along well enough, maybe producers can get them to work in a project together. That will surely be one successful project. -- 11/9/2009

Maglalaban sina Darna at Zandro! credit: stephaniefrancisco.wordpress.com tried and tested by ANGELStory behind the contract signing:Angel Locsin’s manager initially ignored the proposal from Mosbeau Philippines for its product endorsements. The said manager wasn’t convinced on how effective the product is and considering that the company is just new in the country. After a few chats between the marketing division of Mosbeau and Angel’s manager, the company was finally given the chance to present its proposal and the packages it includes. After the long meeting, Angel and her manager discussed about it. Surprisingly, Angel had already tried Mosbeau’s products. How is what we don’t know, nor even WHEN is what we have no idea of. With this, since it has been tried and tested, and Angel was extremely happy with the results, they intuitively accepted the proposal. WHOALLAH! Angel Locsin is officially MOSBEAU PHILIPPINES‘ endorser for MOSBEAU WHITE (UA AND INNER THIGH CREAM) and PLACENTA WHITE.
