Luis & Angel: What went wrong? DIRECTLINE By Boy Abunda (The Philippine Star) Luis Manzano and Angel Locsin: Peace be with them | Zoom Is it really over for Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano? Tabloids are awash with stories that Luis has found a new girl whose identity is still under wraps. Luis, though, is often seen in public with this mysterious girl who many say, captured Luis’ elusive heart. One Internet site though identified the girl as Alodia Gosiengfiao, a cosplayer (someone who loves to wear costumes of favorite characters in animé series, movies or video games). Former girlfriend Angel has been bombarded with allegations of being gay. Angel remains cool about this. “Hindi po ako lesbian. Maybe it’s because I’m tomboyish. Nag-boyfriend naman ako. Minsan naiisip ko, mag yes na lang kaya ako?” Angel said in exasperation. Angel’s showbiz friends have come to her rescue. “Angel is not a tomboy. Walang magawa ang mga nagsabi niyan. Hindi siya maarteng babae at yon ang gusto sa kanya ng publiko,” said Bianca King. “People have nothing bad to say about Angel so they’re just creating an issue like this. I know Gel, she’s not like that,” commented Bubbles Paraiso. People are also talking about Luis having given up on Angel. Luis admits he and Angel have been through a lot. “Marami kaming pinagdaanan ni Angel na sinubukan naming ayusin ang mga bagay bagay. Perhaps it’s safe to say that we are moving on in different directions,” said Luis on E-Live, a show that he co-hosts with Nikki Gil, Cheska Litton and Ogie Diaz. “I can say that I did something wrong to Angel. If I hurt her, I can say that’s part of my being a man. I have to accept my wrongdoings.” Luis also felt remorse for hurting Angel. “Kung yong pananakit ko kay Angel brought us to our separate ways, I would like to say I’m very sorry.” He added that he needed to change. “There’s gonna be a new Luis. It’s never too late or never too early to change. I need to be a better person din siguro.” Could Luis’ pronouncements be the reason for Angel’s tweets on “Change?” She posted on her Twitter, “To change and to change for the better are two different things.” We wish both Angel and Luis peace.

MANILA, Philippines- Batangas Gov. and “Star For All Seasons” Vilma Santos reacted on his son Luis and actress Angel Locsin’s decisions to move in different directions on Wednesday.
In an interview with Showbiz News Ngayon, Santos, who has publicly supported the Luis-Angel off-screen relationship, expressed her sadness over the couple’s “separation of ways”.
Though regretful, the actress-turned-politician hopes that both will remain friends despite their failed romance.
“Ganun talaga ang fate, hindi natin mapipilit ang hindi pwede. They both tried. The most important thing is they remained friends. The respect should be there,” said Santos.

'Imortal' leads primetime By KAYE VILLAGOMEZ November 9, 2010, 10:42am
MANIAL, Philippines - Hollywood vampire literature has taken a bite on Filipino primetime as ABS-CBN’s “Imortal” buried its fangs deep into the ratings game by leading the AGB Nielsen Mega Manila People Ratings.
The John Lloyd Cruz-Angel Locsin starrer that takes after the successes of the “Twilight” franchise and foreign series like “True Blood” and “Vampire Diaries” clocked in 14.1 percent against “Grazilda” (11 percent) and “Ilumina” (9.8 percent) on Nov. 1.
“Imortal’s” number even topped steady leaders from rival network “24 Oras” (14 percent) and “Survivor Philippines Celebrity Edition” (12.1 percent).
More importantly, the horror-drama’s feat meant the Kapamilya network can get the upper hand despite losing to Kapuso shows in previous weeknight tallies.
Last Nov. 2, “Imortal” maintained the lead with 13.9 percent compared to “Grazilda’s” 12.3 percent and “Ilumina’s” 11.4 percent. However, the overall network ratings still stated a GMA-advantage with 6.9 percent and 7.1 percent audience share versus ABS-CBN’s 6.3 percent and 6 percent numbers on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively.
Another ABS-CBN primetimer ahead in its time slot is “Magkaribal” which scored 13.6 percent (Nov. 1) and 12.9 percent (Nov. 2) against “Ilumina’s” 9.8 and 11.4 percent and “Beauty Queen’s” 9 percent and 9.9 percent on Monday and Tuesday.
Recall that “Grazilda” had its run a couple of weeks ago before “Imortal” started its strong showing since Oct. 26.

Sam needs rest after hospitalizationabs-cbnNEWS.com Posted at 11/26/2010 12:39 AM | Updated as of 11/26/2010 12:48 AM MANILA, Philippines – Hunk actor Sam Milby was rushed to the hospital last Tuesday due to intermittent fever. Several of his supporters got worried because earlier reports said the actor was suspected to have dengue. Even actress Angel Locsin expressed apprehension about Milby's health through her official Twitter account.
“GET WELL SOON @samuelmilby I HOPE IT’S NOT DENGUE,” she said. The actor's condition, however, was clarified by Milby’s road manager Caress Caballero. She told “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Thursday that reports claiming that Milby caught dengue are not true. Through a text message, she said that Milby got a non-specific viral infection and that the actor is no longer in danger but needs to rest. “He was discharged na just now. Non specific viral infection ang na-detect. ‘Di dengue. Kala namin dengue 'coz signs were parang pang dengue but hindi. No fever and normal mga tests but needs to rest. Not in his best form yet,” Caballero said.

Runaway groom gets his comeuppance
By Rito Asilo Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 21:12:00 11/26/2010
Filed Under: Cinema, Entertainment (general)
MANILA, Philippines—You’d think that any among Angel Locsin, Kaye Abad, Denise Laurel or Jodi Sta. Maria would make an ideal bride, right? Well, not for John Lloyd Cruz’s nice but naughty bachelor character, Apollo, in Cathy Garcia-Molina’s “My Amnesia Girl.” None of them is good enough to take home to Papa (Atoy Co). In fact, even when Pol meets Irene (Toni Gonzaga), the girl of his dreams, he also eventually leaves her—at the altar!
But, when he realizes it’s time to settle down, Apollo decides to pursue the woman he’s hurt the most. There’s a little “complication” to his dilemma, however: Irene doesn’t seem to know who he is!
Unique situation
So, when he learns that his former bride-to-be has amnesia, Pol sees the unique situation as his ticket to romantic redemption. To win Irene over again, he tags along as her alalay, runs errands for her, and even makes a fool of himself by posing half-naked when she asks him to (she’s a photographer)! And, not once does he suspect that there’s a reason behind her obvious displays of meanness.
Of course, if only Apollo and his eager-beaver pals (Carlos Agassi, Joross Gamboa, JM de Guzman and Ketchup Eusebio) weren’t as gullible as the runaway groom’s past girlfriends, they wouldn’t even need a physician to see through Irene’s ruse—although if that did happen, that would have ended the story right then and there.
Irene thinks there’s a lesson to be derived from her unfortunate romantic plight—and one that her former fiancé needs to learn the hard way! But, when his charming ways begin to break down her defences, Irene finds herself falling for Apollo again! —What to do?
Molina’s earlier films were a delight because of their wholesome romantic froth and lack of pretention. But, there was something else going for them: Their main leads’ undeniable (if surprising) chemistry, which was why those John Lloyd-Bea, Toni-Sam, Hero-Sandara starrers were hits with moviegoers. It was easy to root for them when the romantic going got tough!
Sadly, chemistry is the crucial element that’s lacking in Cruz and Gonzaga’s team-up. The romantic sparks they generate don’t fly as high as they ought, which would have made their characters’ implausible tale more believable and “relatable” to viewers.
Heartwarming moments
To be fair, Molina injects some heartwarming moments in her film (the house littered with colorful Post-Its was particularly charming)—but, without effective thespic “vessels” to deliver them, many of those scenes really don’t amount to much.
Initially, the cute analogies John Lloyd and Toni deliver (“Hindi ka na makakauwi, kasi nandito ka na sa isip ko,” etc.) are a whiff of fresh air. But, they overstay their welcome in no time, because the movie uses them as a running gag—and in a relentless fashion.
It makes you think that the couple does nothing all day but think of corny wisecracks for each other. And, long before the credits roll, listening to them gets more unnerving than amusing. Besides, aren’t John Lloyd and Toni a little too long in the tooth for those lines?
Moreover, there’s not much cake beneath “My Amnesia Girl’s” sugar-coating. So, when Apollo finally tells Irene why he got cold feet before their wedding, you won’t feel that burst of cinematic inspiration and optimism that convinces you that this star-crossed couple’s relationship just might work. Instead, you feel that they’re just setting themselves up for another heartbreak.

From : Governor Vilma Santos comments on Nora's return, Sharon-Aga feud, and Luis-Angel failed reconciliation
Erwin Santiago
Saturday, November 27, 2010 11:08 AM
LUIS & ANGEL'S FAILED RECONCILIATION.
Kasi minsan, pag nagagatungan, lalong gumagrabe, di ba? Let's give them space.
"If they're meant [to be together], I'm sure magkakabalikan.
"If they're not, ang sabi ko lang kay Luis, 'Luis, iwan mo yung friendship, and at the same time, iwan mo yung respect.'
"It's the most important thing that you can do, being a gentleman."
Nagkausap na ba sila ni Angel?
"The last time na nagkausap kami was medyo matagal na...cell phone. Nung second time na medyo lumalabas-labas sila ulit. But, that's the last time.
"So, I wish her the best. She's a good person," sabi ng actress-politician.
But it's okay, no problem," ani Governor Vi.
"Naku, Anak, take your time. Long way to go. Darating at darating yung para sa kanya.
"At pag dumating yun, I'm sure madidinig n'yo na lang. Kasi, sabi niya, pag dumating na raw 'yon, kasal na, e, di ba?
"I guess the most important thing is nakita niya yung tugma sa kanya. Yun lang 'yon."
Gusto na bang lumagay sa tahimik ni Luis?
"I really don't know," sagot ni Governor Vi.
"Basta ako, nandiyan lang sa tabi lagi ng anak ako. But I don't meddle, I don't impose.
"Basta ako, kung saan lumigaya ang anak ko, doon ako. At nandidito lang ako palagi for him."
